Frank Zaker, O.D.

Dr. Frank Zaker received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and completed his Master of Science Degree in Health Education from George Williams College. As a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry, he successfully opened and established Zaker Family Vision Center in 1988. From inception, Zaker Family Vision Center has grown to be one of the premier vision centers in the Chicago land area, with continual recognition of patient and customer service from various vision health plans.

Over the last twenty three years of practice, Dr. Frank Zaker achieved one of the few milestones coveted by most doctors, examining over one hundred thousand patients. An authority in laser vision and cataract post operative care, he has successfully managed over one thousand procedures. Dr. Zaker has served on numerous Optometric counsels and has been awarded the prestigious Kennedy Award for Excellence in Eye Care.

Dr. Frank is currently bringing his warm personality and expertise to the radio.  Dr. Frank can be heard on his radio show “Eyes on Health”. It airs weekly on WYLL AM 1160, each Saturday afternoon at 3pm.

Joseph Zaker, O.D.

Dr. Joe Zaker was raised in the near southwest suburbs of Chicago.  He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and his Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry.  Aside from comprehensive, contact lens and pediatric exams, Dr. Joe routinely manages glaucoma, contact lens related infections, dry eye syndrome, diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy and postoperative care for cataracts and laser vision correction. He is a recipient of the Marchon Eyewear Practice Management Award and Vision Service Plan (VSP) Private Practice Award.  

In the summer of 2008, Dr. Joe underwent CustomVue Photorefractive Keratectomy (PRK) on both eyes from Dr. Coleman Kraff of the Kraff Eye Institute. Dr. Joe’s spectacle prescription included myopia (nearsightedness) and astigmatism.  One week after his laser vision correction surgery, Dr. Joe was seeing 20/20 with both eyes and continues to have excellent vision and comfort. Dr. Joe met his wife, Dr. Theresa Zaker, while attending Illinois College of Optometry. They married in the summer of 2007 and had their first child, Kara, in the summer of 2010.  In his free time, Dr. Joe likes to golf and work in his yard. 

Theresa Zaker, O.D.

Dr. Theresa Zaker was born in Chicago and grew up in Janesville, Wisconsin.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati and her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry.  Dr. Theresa provides comprehensive and pediatric exams, with an emphasis on contact lenses, treatment of infections, dry eye and contact lens related issues. Dr. Theresa received the Vision Service Plan (VSP) Private Practice Award.

Dr. Theresa met her husband, Dr. Joe Zaker, in their first year at the Illinois College of Optometry.  They have been married since 2007 and welcomed their first child, Kara, in the summer of 2010.  Dr. Theresa likes to travel and bake for friends and family in her free time.
